Store Clerk
Responsibilities:
Promotes and enhances ISS mission to be the best resource for a very diverse group of customers. Assist customers and stock merchandise in the walk-in material supply store by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.
- Greets customer at sales counter or by phone.
- Answers questions and advises customer in selection of materials and supplies.
- Writes sales orders.
- Prints pick slips
- Receives payment.
- Cuts or packages material as needed.
- Assists customer to load purchased materials into customer’s vehicle.
- Places new products on display.
- Straightens materials on display to maintain safe and orderly conditions in sales areas.
- Counts materials and records totals on inventory sheets.
- Receives stock.
- Prepares UPS shipments.
- Packages fasteners and stocks shelves.
- Sweeps and cleans store interior and exterior.
- Opens and closes store, including counting till.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to use a tape measure or other measuring devices.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
